Klaus Maria Brandauer liest: „Doktor Faustus“ von Thomas Mann

The novel DOCTOR FAUSTUS, written between 1943 and 1946, parallels the biography of composer Adrian Leverkühn, who makes a pact with the devil, with the rise of fascism and the end of World War II. The point at which these two developments converge is the awareness of a cultural crisis.

"It is a life story of criminal ruthlessness," said Thomas Mann about his novel.

Kammerschauspieler and honorary member of the Burgtheater Klaus Maria Brandauer will read from the Faustian parable, accompanied on the piano by Arno Waschk.
