Handshakers. Hugs. The worst are the cheek kissers.
The brilliant geoscientist Ever Montgomery lives in a world of rules, logic, and rationality. Interpersonal dynamics, however, are a mystery to him. As a person with Asperger's syndrome, a form of autism, he avoids eye contact and physical contact. In this respect, nothing could be more unbearable than dancing. But an awards ceremony forces him to learn to do just that.
Senga Quinn, on the other hand, has dedicated her entire life to dance—until a serious injury threatens to end her career forever. When Ever asks her for dance lessons on the recommendation of the caretaker, she initially declines. But curiosity wins.
Directed by Folke Braband, in The Dance Lesson we experience an entertaining and sensitive story about the courage to live our lives—and perhaps even change them.
