My Fair Lady is a musical with the music by Frederick Loewe and the lyrics by Alan J. Lerner. The musical is based on George Shaw's comedy performed in Vienna's Burgtheater in October 1913.
Professor Higgins meets the flower girl Eliza Doolittle at a flower market in London. Eliza Doolittle comes from an impoverished family with a drunkard as a father. Thrilled by Elizabeth's vulgar language, Professor Higgins bets his colleague Pickering, saying that he can make a fine lady out of the flower girl in six months.
