The „Wiener Stadthalle“ is one of the biggest event centers in Europe and the biggest in Austria. The first two halls were opened in 1957 and the official opening by the Federal President took place in 1958. The “Stadthallenbad”, Hall A, Hall B and Hall C are used for sport and leisure activities. The halls D, E and F serve as stages for various artists and events. Musicals as well like “We Will Rock You” or “Dirty Dancing” take place in the “Wiener Stadthalle”. The “Wiener Stadthalle” is also used for many TV shows, opera nights, rock concerts, sport events, congresses and fairs. The Nestroy Theater Prize has been awarded in the “Wiener Stadthalle”, the largest ATP tournament and shows like Holiday on Ice and Appassionata take place on these stages.
