Franz Kafka: Milena!

At the beginning of 1920, Milena Jesenská, then 23, approached the older, previously unknown writer Franz Kafka in the Prague artists' café Arco and asked him if she could translate his stories into Czech. Over the course of the year, this encounter developed into a deep love affair, primarily expressed through an intensive exchange of letters. During this time, they met only twice in person – four days in Vienna and two days in Gmünd, Lower Austria.
The evening attempts nothing less than a dramatic reconstruction: Kafka's letters to Milena have survived, but Milena's letters to him were most likely burned at her request.
