Oliver Welter, musician and singer of the Austrian cult band NAKED LUNCH, teamed up with the pianist, sound and performance artist Clara Frühling for this euphoric cross-border journey. On behalf of the BURG, a radical and emotionally touching new interpretation of WINTERREISE was created, which was celebrated with sustained standing ovations and enthusiastic media reactions at its premiere in June 2021 in the Academy Theater. Perhaps a turning point in the reception of this existential masterpiece by Franz Schubert and Wilhelm Müller, whose eerily beautiful nature Welter and Breakfast explore with a growing understanding of pop and passionate precision. A moving journey straight into the dark soul of the world's most famous song cycle.
