Volkstheater - Wien Tue 17.Nov 2026 19:30 replace me !The set of a children’s TV show is pushed to the limit. There is only an hour left until filming wraps, and sixteen pages of script remain—pages no one has really looked at closely. The cast are frazzled and drenched in sweat inside their full-body costumes. The budget has been blown, and the technical equipment is on the verge of collapse. Add to the mix an audience full of impatient children. What could possibly go wrong? Everything. And it does so gloriously, spectacularly, and to maximum comic effect. Because—surprise!—a disgruntled actor shows up, bent on revenge and sporting his own dragon costume. An explosive new play by Henry Shields from the writing team at Mischief Theatre Company—the same group behind the West End hit *The Comedy About a Bank Robbery*, which, under Christian Brey’s direction, brought Vienna audiences to their feet. Packed with slapstick, stunts, fight choreography, songs, and dance, this dark comedy offers a sharp look at the inner workings of the entertainment industry. Christian Brey directs once again—with timing so precise it’s as if a very nervous dragon were lurking in the control room, claw poised over the stopwatch.(Source: volkstheater.at)
