Matinee: Un Ballo in maschera

Introductory matinees before opera and ballet premieres are of particular interest to audiences: In around 90 minutes, the work and the new production are explored, the composer, choreographer and the background to the work are discussed, interpretative approaches are explained and both scenic and musical aspects are analyzed. Of course, there are always musical contributions (and dance contributions in ballet matinees) that illuminate important themes of the work from a special perspective. The matinees are recorded and made available on the Vienna State Opera's YouTube channel so that a wide audience can "rewatch" the event. Introductory matinees to operas are hosted by State Opera Director Bogdan Rošcic.
