A Schubertiade

That the Viennese song duo Die Strottern and the music ensemble Franui would one day dedicate themselves to a joint celebration of Franz Schubert became apparent on the Baltic Sea island of Rügen, where the two ensembles shared the stage during a winter spring festival. "This must be how it sounded when Schubert sang Winterreise to his friends," said the Franuis as Die Strottern's song ended. "This must be how it sounded when Schubert accompanied his friends dancing in winter," said Die Strottern as Franui's final chord faded into the background. The plan to create a new Schubertiade was quickly hatched. Songs, choruses, dances – the whole program.

"Franzensfeste" – besides alluding to the village in the Puster Valley not far from Innervillgraten – is a special celebration for Franz Schubert, as true musicians call him.
