Walzerkonzert im Park Theater im Park - Wien Mon 31.Aug 2026 19:30 replace me !WALTZ CONCERT IN THE PARK
Philharmonic Soloists - Members of the Vienna Philharmonic
It has become a cherished tradition for the soloists of the Vienna Philharmonic to present their annual waltz concert at the Theater im Park, featuring music by the Strauss dynasty, Franz Lehár's Robert Stolz, and others.
With overtures, popular waltzes such as Wiener Blut and Tales from the Vienna Woods, to name just a few, lively gallops, and spirited polkas, the concert will culminate, as always, with Johann Strauss II's Blue Danube Waltz. And everyone is warmly invited to join in the dancing!
As a special guest, we welcome the enchanting soprano Cornelia Horak: she will bring additional cheer with famous numbers such as Johann Strauss's Schwipslied and the hit Wien, du Stadt meiner Träume (Vienna, City of My Dreams), among others. Furthermore, the most famous songs by Robert Stolz, such as "Im Prater blühn wieder die Bäume" (The Trees Are Blooming Again in the Prater) and "Du sollst der Kaiser meiner Seele sein" (You Shall Be the Emperor of My Soul), will of course also be included.
Christoph Wagner-Trenkwitz, a profound expert on the repertoire, will guide you through the program with his usual charm and will surely surprise you, dear audience, with some background stories about the individual works that you may not yet know.
Like the message of the popular and globally broadcast "Grand" New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic from the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein, all the performers understand this concert as a message of peace for the audience in a time of great unrest and uncertainty.
