An evening about appearances - about the shiny surface that we hold up to the world. About filters, facades and the silent promise to always function. But what stories, cracks and longings are hidden behind them? How do we create an authentic togetherness from a coexistence?

Disguise scenes and masked balls are omnipresent in opera. Hardly any other genre plays with deception and role reversal with such relish. Identities are tested behind masks, social boundaries are tested in strange clothes. The moment of unveiling often reveals that the mask not only conceals, it also exposes - and poses the question of who we are when all attributions fall away.

Musically, the evening moves between eccentric exaggeration and reduced, vulnerable moments. Contemporary pop songs meet opera melodies, re-framed and interwoven. Improvised passages open up spaces in between, leaving room for the unpredictable. The performance breaks up the classical form of the choral concert - the boundary between stage and audience becomes blurred.
