- Hector Berlioz Symphonie fantastique / Episode de la Vie d'un Artiste, Op. 14
Dreams of love, a grandly staged march to the execution, and the finale, the Witches' Sabbath – celebrated blockbuster films don't do much better. And music doesn't get more gripping than the "Symphonie fantastique." It's no wonder, then, that Berlioz's best-known work, with which he founded the "program symphony" genre, is a hit not only with all major orchestras and performers, but also with audiences. In the Vienna Symphony Orchestra concert, the young Lithuanian conductor Giedrė Šlekytė will also present the finest arthouse music with one of the most important viola concertos in music history. The soloist will be the internationally acclaimed violist Antoine Tamestit.(Source: jeunesse.at)
