Bach in Space Konzerthaus Big Hall - Wien Wed 20.Jan 2027 19:30 replace me !Werke von Bach zu NASA-Bildern aus dem All
Fascinating images of the universe projected onto a giant screen, accompanied by the music of Johann Sebastian Bach
Distant galaxies, nebulae, black holes – the cosmos closer than ever before! On a massive screen, crystal-clear NASA images shine in colors usually only seen in science fiction films. Mona Asuka, one of the most outstanding pianists of her generation, performs music by Johann Sebastian Bach – sometimes powerful, sometimes delicate, always surprising. The result: a concert that feels like a journey through space and time.
Image and music merge, the gaze wanders into infinity – and suddenly Bach's music seems so modern and timeless, as if it had been written just for this moment. The first performances in Munich have already demonstrated the concept's captivating appeal: "An otherworldly Bach," wrote the Munich Merkur. And the portal "Culture in Munich" reported: "The Munich audience was visibly captivated during the performance – by the vastness and depth of the crystal-clear, high-resolution images, by the finely curated selection of Bach's repertoire, and by the precise execution."
Following its great success last April, "Bach in Space" returns to the Vienna Konzerthaus in January 2027. The program includes highlights such as excerpts from the "Well-Tempered Clavier," the "Goldberg Variations," and the "Italian Concerto." Great classics – experienced anew, in a setting that guarantees goosebumps.
"Bach in Space" is more than just classical music: an experience for everyone who wants to experience music and the cosmos in a new dimension.
