Psychologist Kris Kelvin is dispatched to support a mission on the space station on the planet Solaris. The planet is covered by an ocean that appears to be an intelligent being, inexplicably resurrecting physical manifestations from the crew's past, which are linked to deep feelings of guilt. Kris Kelvin, a scientist, strives to solve the mystery, but becomes increasingly entangled and begins to distrust his own perception.

In his digital theater production, Austrian director Roman Senkl explores the psychological and existential aspects of the novel and questions of guilt, memory, and the limits of understanding together with the audience.
