The hit show “Was lachen Sie?” starring Heinz Marecek and Erwin Steinhauer is returning!

To celebrate Heinz Marecek’s 80th birthday on September 17, 2025, the two consummate comedians, Heinz Marecek and Erwin Steinhauer, are bringing their hit show “Was lachen Sie?” back to the stage in 2026.

The show, which played to over 120 sold-out performances throughout Austria more than 25 years ago, features not only the classic comedy duo act—with Steinhauer as the “smart one” and Marecek as the “dumb one”—but also solo performances by the two acting legends.

The comeback is underpinned by years of stage experience, sharp humor, and a deep appreciation for the Viennese cabaret tradition. Audiences can expect an evening that will make them laugh but also give them food for thought—an event not to be missed.
