Bummelkasten's music videos garner thousands of clicks daily. The Berlin-based one-man band has comfortably settled into the German children's music scene with their entirely mouth-made debut album, "Irgendwas Bestimmtes" (Something Specific), delighting children, parents, and non-parents alike. Their songs exert a captivating pull that's hard to resist. No wonder: This catchy, a cappella beatbox sound—with its intricate arrangements and playful vocals and music—is wonderfully unpolished and entertaining, and not just within the children's music genre. With sophisticated lyrics and quirky humor, Bummelkasten pushes the boundaries and explores new artistic territory.

"Will you come, please?!"—the oft-used, politely euphemistic phrase of many parents—is so persistently presented in the song of the same name, and so frequently answered with an infantile "Yeeeah," that it's almost painful. In "Wandern" (Hiking), a sinfully laid-back song about—well—hiking, the themes of nature and media consumption merge. But it's Bummelkasten's quirky characters that really appeal to children: Max, the escalator-riding toilet paper thief; Susi, the toughest of all princesses, who loves grilling pony sausage and driving a monster truck to the bakery; Shiny, the light fairy, who takes a trip through the solar system but quickly gets fed up with each planet she visits; Bulli Battmann, a nasty schoolyard bully who cries into his pillow at night; and Klaus, the smartest janitor ever.

Since the first Lollapalooza Festival in Berlin, Bummelkasten has been the annual highlight of "Kidzapalooza," the parallel family-oriented offshoot, as a resident artist. He performs his stage shows casually from his armchair. Besides his humorously performed songs, it's especially his loop station interludes that are a lot of fun.

So get your sticky fingers off the sofa, take off your non-slip socks, and go pee one more time: The public toilet is in town!
