Barbara Blaha knows what she's talking about. Growing up in a working-class family with many siblings but little money, she knows the feeling of being overlooked. Her previous stage shows have been an overwhelming success:
Thousands have already seen them, and every performance has been sold out. In her new show, "Spark Sisters," and the accompanying book of the same name, she combines personal stories with figures, facts, and studies, demonstrating why economic issues are always also feminist issues. She reveals why women are less frequently given leadership roles, are interrupted more often, and are paid less. She shows that in industries with a high proportion of women, wages are falling, and even a full-time job doesn't protect against a second, unpaid shift at home.
