DAVE (ORF 1) is Austria's first (and only) mockumentary series, and also the only one where linear television and social media are closely intertwined:

About David Scheid:
Hip hop can be funny, and cabaret must be doper.
David Scheid is a cabaret artist, actor, and DJ. With his first program, "REMIX, the program with the record player," he won the "Graz Kleinkunstvogel" (Graz Small Art Bird), the "Golden Kleinkunstnagel" (Golden Small Art Nail), and the Bavarian "Mittlere Schafrichterbeil" (Medium Sheep Judge's Axe) in 2016. Numerous TV appearances followed on ORF and Bayerischer Rundfunk, including several appearances on the program "Pratersterne" (ORF 1). David Scheid, playing the role of "Dave," known from the show "Die Tagespresse," won the hearts of young television audiences on the program "DIE.Nacht" (ORF 1). The youth reporter is a symbol of a generation growing up in abundance, "Generation Y." In 2018, "DAVE" became its own series on ORF 1, and season 2, also on ORF, will air on November 7, 2023.

About Jan Frankl:
Jan Frankl (born 1987 in Graz) is an Austrian director, producer, screenwriter, and photographer. He studied theater, film, and media studies in Vienna, Munich, and Dallas. As a video designer and photographer, he has worked for several Viennese theaters and opera houses, including the Theater in der Josefstadt, the Theater an der Wien, the Raimund Theater, and the Ronacher. Jan Frankl's directing work can be seen in productions such as "DAVE," "Wir Staatskünstler," "Ostrowski macht Urlaub," "Die Tagespresse," as well as advertising and music videos for national and international artists and companies. His love of theater and cabaret led him to define a new cinematic standard for recording theater productions.
In 2017, he founded the production company Mutterschifffilm together with Julia Sobieszek.
