In Elfriede Jelinek's new play, AMONG ANIMALS, others take their place: bear and cow, rat and pig, badger, dolphin, dove, and many more. "The Bear's Pun," "The Lamb of God," and "The For and the Ram" also make their appearances. They all contemplate something profoundly human: capitalism and its mechanisms. Stunned and with growing sarcasm, the animals follow the trail of money: from the Bible to Benko, from SV Mattersburg to Sigi Wolf—money rules the world and now even the universe.
In cooperation with the Salzburg Festival, director Nicolas Stemann brings the text to the stage with a spirited ensemble.
